Bone cancer (ICD-9 170)

There was a markedly higher incidence and especially mortality in Belarus, Russia and Poland than in most of the remaining countries. Mortality was close to incidence in Denmark and the former GDR and even exceeded that in Poland.

Comment

There are apparent differences between countries in classifying metastatic bone cancers. For example, in Poland and Denmark they seem to be included in mortality statistics but not in incidence rates.
